    is an artist and researcher specialising in plastics and synthetics. Her interests lie in seeking ways to recycle plastics, exploiting their longevity before reaching landfill and addressing wider interpretations and relationships with plastic materials and their interfaces cognitively and emotionally. Emma is a member of Metropolitan Works where she is currently developing ideas for 'painting in plastic' via rapid-prototyping production.

    Guest Research Fellow

    is Co-Founder and Managing Director of Fabrican Ltd. 2003, which has been technically developed at Imperial College London. Fabrican is a unique product which links science to art and design - a spray-on fabric designed to be used across an array of markets. It was initially intended solely for fashion, however Manel is exploring the potential of this technology for healthcare, household and industrial sectors.

    Research Associate

    is a textile designer currently challenging the potential of wearable display technologies in textile design for fashion, sportswear and related products.  Her current research 'Motion Response Sportswear' aims to revolutionise fitness apparel, designing responsive textiles, producing body and motion sensitive wearable ‘displays’.  Kerri is working to advance the technology of thermo chromic ink and digital print technology in conjunction with sportswear companies and specialist industrial research agencies.

    Research Associate

    is currently working in partnership with world leading scientists in Canada to develop the design potential of photonic crystal fiber as a component to textile materials. These fibers offer new and sustainable methods of developing smart materials that are responsive, colour changing according to luminosity conditions, capable of data delivery and communication. Kathy’s research includes interactive material applications in the following design sectors: fashion, product, interior and architecture.

    Research Associate

    Is currently working as Research Assistant on the Digital Sensoria project, investigating ways of representing the multisensory properties of textiles through new technologies and rich digital media. His particular research interest is in exploring the role of sound in our relationships and interactions with garments.
